It’s casual Tuesday with this episode of STOked, we join up with our fleet Jupiter Force and rip around the Milky Way Galaxy with phasers blazing, and our camera recording!
Plus Gozer stops by to chat with us one last time while he’s still an employee of Cryptic, the makers of Star Trek Online.
Then we go over the best non-combat mission ideas that were sent in, including one that involves a series of mini games!

Mac:
“Replicatus Interruptus”
A remote colony on a harsh planet that cannot support grown produce, relies upon a communal replicator that has broken down and you’re the nearest ship. An investigation ensues. Scanning the replicator shows you cannot repair it – it’s being interfered with by an outside source, and now you have to question some colonists about possible sources of interference. One colonist will mention that an item fell to the planet a few days prior to the malfunction, and send you off in search of it. Find it, Press F, BOOM.
Mac continues from that point though, recommending a “re-arrange the isolinear chips” mini-game! 10 slots, 9 chips, and all must be set into a sequential order. Timer not necessary, but Mac mentions that the rank of reward you receive could be determined by how good you are at the mini-game. Finish in 10 seconds = epic, 20 seconds = rare, etc.
Mac:
“Collision Course”
Space non-combat mission. You are sent to investigate a badly-decayed Federation distress signal. Upon arrival in the system, your science officer discovers that the asteroids of this system are generating huge amounts of graviton interference, acting as small gravity wells (same as the boff ability). You must navigate through this deadly “mine field” of gravity wells and retrieve the escape pods from the research vessel that was destroyed attempting to map the region. The interference causes Red Alert status, and knocks all systems offline except minor engines (reducing your speed to a fraction of the normal amount), so the only way out is through the maze.
Jaerod73:
“System Quarantine”
While visiting a colony, your Away Team contracts a deadly disease that cannot be eliminated by the ship’s biofilters, and they are forced to return to the planet’s surface. Upon return to the planet, you and your crew begin researching a cure or vaccine for the illness.
Jaerod recommends a form of trial-and-error mini-game that would require you to try different concoctions using the resources available on the planet’s surface, and testing the “cures” on your bridge crew. He goes so far as to mention the possibility of having boffs DIE from incorrect medicines.
